The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2026
is the primary national-level entrance exam for students seeking admission into
the 5-year B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) degree program across India. Conducted
by the Council of Architecture (CoA), the exam evaluates aptitude,
creative thinking, and design sensitivity rather than rote academic knowledge.

### Important Tentative Dates

### Eligibility Criteria
To sit for NATA 2026, candidates must meet the following
academic standards:
- Educational
Qualification: Must have passed or be appearing for 10+2 (or
equivalent) OR a 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory
subject.
- Subject
Requirements: For 10+2 candidates, Physics, Chemistry, and
Mathematics (PCM) are mandatory.
- Minimum
Marks: At least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and
Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level
examination (Note: Some categories may have a 5% relaxation).
- Age
Limit: No specific upper age limit is prescribed by the CoA.
### Exam Pattern & Syllabus
The NATA exam has been updated to a two-part structure to
test both technical drawing and mental aptitude.
Part A: Drawing and Composition (Offline - 80 Marks)
This section is conducted on paper and lasts 90 minutes.

(25 Marks): Composition and Color – Creating a visual layout for a
given situation.
- A2
(25 Marks): Sketching & Composition (B&W) – Visualizing
buildings, people, and objects.
- A3
(30 Marks): 3D Composition – Creating interesting 3D forms using
geometric shapes.
Part B: Computer-Based Test (Online - 120 Marks)
This section consists of 45-50 questions (MCQs, MSQs, and
NAQs) and lasts 90 minutes.
- Visual
Reasoning: Interpreting 2D/3D compositions and patterns.
- General
Aptitude: Architectural awareness, famous buildings, and materials.
- Logical
Reasoning: Inductive, deductive, and situational judgment.
- Mathematics:
Basic geometry, algebra, and trigonometry.
### Qualifying Criteria
To be considered "NATA Qualified," you must
satisfy all three of these conditions:

at least 20/80 in Part A.
- Score
at least 30/120 in Part B.
- Secure
an overall aggregate score of at least 70/200.
Note: If you appear for multiple attempts, your best score among all attempts will be considered for admission.
