The aptitude test of NATA may
comprise questions of Multiple-Choice type (MCQ), Multiple Select type (MSQ),
Preferential Choice type (PCQ), Numerical Answer type (NAQ) and Match the
following type (MFQ)
The questions will carry 1 mark,
2 marks or 3 marks and 125 questions have to be answered in 180 minutes.
The medium of Aptitude test will
be essentially English language. Some questions may be in regional languages
also.
The aptitude of the candidate
will be assessed using some or all of the following techniques:
• Diagrammatic Reasoning – Tests
the ability of logical reasoning, using diagrams and scenarios
• Numerical Reasoning – Tests mathematical
ability through simple problems
• Verbal Reasoning – Assesses the
ability to assess verbal logic.
• Inductive Reasoning – Tests the
ability to see patterns and analyse given data
• Situational Judgment – Tests
problem-solving ability.
• Logical Reasoning – Tests
ability to recognise patterns, sequences or relationships between shapes and
imagery.
• Abstract Reasoning – Will
assess general knowledge, and ability to utilise knowledge in new situations.
Questions could be asked in
various topics that assess candidates on basic concepts in science, mathematics , visual & architecture aptitude:
- Ø mathematics,
physics and geometry,
- Ø language
and interpretation,
- Ø elements
and principles of design, aesthetic sensitivity, colour theory,
- Ø lateral
thinking and logical reasoning, visual perception and cognition, graphics and
imagery,
- Ø building
anatomy and architectural vocabulary, basic techniques of building construction
and knowledge of material,
- Ø general
knowledge and current affairs, etc. and may not be
limited to those outlined.
The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) now called the JEE (Joint Engineering Entrance Exam) is held in the month of April for the seats of B.Arch/B.Planning in various institutions, namely National Institutes of Technology, IIITs, Deemed Universities, Technical Institutions, Delhi Technological University, Delhi and other Govt. funded Institutions are offered through this examination.
Part-1: Drawing Test
Three dimensional perception
Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast.
Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil.
Transformation of forms both 2 D and 3 D union, substraction, rotation, development of surfaces and volumes, Generation of Plan, elevations and 3D views of objects.
Creating two dimensional and three dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.
Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces etc.), landscape (river fronts, jungles. gardens, tre es, plants etc.) and rural life.
Part-2: Aptitude Test
Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials.) Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build environment.
Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings.
Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects.
Analytical Reasoning
Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal).
Part-3: Mathematics
Eligibility criteria - 75% aggregate in final examination of 10 + 2. Students having studied Maths in Class XII irrespective of stream like Science, Commerce, Humanities etc. are eligible for JEE 2019. The total number of seats is approx. 1000.Admission is on the basis of JEE merit.
JEE B.ARCH 2019 onwards SCIENCE WITH MATHS STUDENTS ONLY will be eligible.
