NID Exam Syllabus 

NID Entrance Exam syllabus consists of questions from the following topics:


The written examination is followed by studio test and personal interview. The examination doesn't follow any prescribed syllabus and the question are included from the following area:

NID Exam Pattern

NID Entrance Exam consists of three aptitude test of 60 marks each made to evaluates the candidate's aptitude and creativity along with innovative and critical analyzing power of the applicant. NID test areas include:

  1. Worldview
  2. Mental Ability
  3. Drawing
  4. Creativity
  5. Communication Skills


NID Exam Eligibility

The eligibility for NID exam is-

Educational Qualification

Students securing at least 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or its equivalent in any stream from a recognized board can apply for the examination.

Candidate who are studying in the qualifying class can also apply for the exam, but at the time of admission, they must provide the eligibility proof.

Age Limit

Aspiring candidate should not be less than 17 years of age.

NID Exam Information

National Institute of Design is internationally acclaimed as one of the finest educational and research institutions for Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design.

It is an autonomous institution under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and is recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.

National Institute of Design Entrance Exam is conducted on National level for admission to:

4 years Undergraduate & Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) and
2 years 6 months Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD)
